Media driver missing error during windows 11 installation
What NOT to Do if you get the Media driver missing for Windows 11 installation error:
❌ Don't use random "fix Windows 11" tools from sketchy sites
❌ Don't download drivers from third-party sites (use manufacturer sites only)
❌ Don't panic and buy a new SSD (it's not hardware failure)
❌ Don't install Windows 10 instead (same issue may occur)
My Recommended Action Plan if you are going to fix the media driver missing for Windows 11 installation error:
1. First: Enter BIOS → Change SATA mode from RST/VMD/RAID to AHCI → Try install
2. If still fails: Download Intel/AMD driver on another device → Load during install
3. If still fails: Check motherboard support page for exact storage driver
4. Last resort: Create new Windows 11 USB with Media Creation Tool (corrupted download possible)
5. Most likely fix (90% of cases): Your motherboard has Intel VMD enabled by default. Either:
Disable VMD in BIOS (change to AHCI), OR
Load Intel VMD driver during installation
