If you are looking for how to convert PDF to image free on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, you can use built-in screenshot tools, an online converter, or a desktop PDF application. The right tool also depends on the number of pages: built-in tools are sufficient for a few individual pages, while a dedicated online or desktop PDF converter is more suitable for multi-page PDFs or batch conversion.
- Built-in method
Convert one PDF page with Snipping Tool
Windows does not include a full PDF-to-image converter, but Snipping Tool provides a simple workaround for one or two pages.
- Open the PDF in Microsoft Edge and zoom in until the entire page is clear.
- Press Windows + Shift + S and capture the page.
- Open the capture in Snipping Tool and select Save as.
- Choose PNG, JPG, or GIF and save the image.
- Repeat the process for every additional PDF page.
This method is free and requires no upload, but it creates a screenshot rather than a full-resolution PDF export. The resulting quality depends on the screen resolution, zoom level, and selected capture area, so it is not ideal for multi-page documents or small printed text.
