Laptop recognizes RAM only after reseating it
My laptop only detects the installed RAM after I physically remove and reseat the memory module. This happens every time I boot from a cold start or restart, and I have to open the panel and reseat the RAM again just to get the system to recognize the full memory capacity.

Clean the memory gold fingers, gently wipe them with an eraser, and reinstall them. At the same time, check the memory slots for dust or oxidation.

If the RAM or slot appears damaged or worn, replacing the RAM module or the motherboard might be necessary.
