Keyboard key selection issue
Hello
Wondering if anyone has any idea why this is happening.
When I use "shift+u" nothing happens, however if I use "caps+u" the result is what you would expect.
I have uninstalled my keyboard drivers updated windows but its still happening. All other keys work fine.
Keyboard is a Logitech G213
Windows 11 Version 24H2

hi medavidcook That’s a strange one, but it’s usually not a Windows bug. Since Caps + U works but Shift + U doesn’t, it points more toward software or keyboard configuration than the key itself.
Because you’re using a Logitech G213, the first thing I’d check is Logitech G Hub. It can sometimes apply profiles or macros that block or remap specific key combinations without it being obvious. Try opening G Hub, disabling any macros or custom assignments, or even fully exiting G Hub and testing again.
Another thing to look at is your keyboard language/layout. Some layouts or IME settings can intercept certain Shift combinations. Make sure you’re only using one layout (for example, English US) and remove any extra ones.
It’s also worth checking Accessibility settings like Sticky Keys or Filter Keys, as those can occasionally interfere with Shift behavior.
If you haven’t already, test the key combo in something simple like Notepad. If it doesn’t work there either, it’s almost certainly a system or keyboard software issue rather than an app issue.
If none of that helps, trying the keyboard on another PC (or a different keyboard on this PC) can quickly confirm whether it’s hardware or software related.
Hopefully one of these points leads you to the culprit — this kind of issue is annoying, but it’s usually fixable once you find the conflicting setting.
