Insignia card reader
- Nov 15, 2024
Thank you for your reply. The source of the drivers are downloaded directly from the Insignia card reader when you first plug it into a USB port on the computer, so I guess they would be from Insignia and I'm ok. I didn't realize that the drivers downloaded from the Insignia card reader was totally separate from driver updates from Windows. Thought it might be a conflict. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Hey BC
It should be safe to install the drivers for your Insignia card reader. The drivers are specific to the card reader itself and shouldn’t interfere with Windows Update. Windows Update has its own system for handling drivers, so installing a driver for your card reader won’t affect your ability to download or install updates for Windows.
As long as the drivers are coming from a trusted source—like directly from Insignia or through a secure automatic installation—there shouldn’t be any issues. If you're ever unsure, you can always visit the manufacturer’s website to download the drivers directly. But generally, as long as everything is from a reputable source, you shouldn’t have any problems with updates.
Hope this Helps.
