Icon/File type question
My laptop was acting wonky a few days back and while I was trying to move a file on my desktop, the one item I'd highlighted became several items and suddenly poof! they were gone. They were not in the Recycle Bin and I could find no trace of the files on my hard drive. In my attempt to search for a specific document, I received a list of a few shortcuts and also a file with an Earth icon next to it. I've never seen that icon before. Can someone tell me what that last item is in the list? BTW, I've given up any possibility of retrieving the lost files. Thanks in advance.

Since you've given up on retrieving those files, it might just be a strange glitch or accidental move. For peace of mind, consider running a disk check or file recovery tool in the future to avoid losing important data.
