Here is a clear, step-by-step guide for performing a clean installation of Windows 11 and setup Windows 11 with local account.
Prerequisites
- A Windows 11 Installation Media: This should be a USB flash drive created with the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool.
- Your New PC: Configured in the BIOS/UEFI to boot from the USB drive.
How to Setup Windows 11 with local account:
- Boot from the USB: Start your PC with the installation USB plugged in. It should load the Windows Setup screen.
- Select Language & Keyboard: Choose your preferred language, time format, and keyboard layout. Click "Next".
- Install Now: Click the "Install now" button.
- Activate Windows: Enter your product key if you have one. If you don't, click "I don't have a product key". You can activate Windows later.
- Select OS Version: Choose the edition of Windows 11 you want to install (e.g., Windows 11 Home or Pro). Click "Next".
- Accept License Terms: Accept the license agreement and click "Next".
- Choose Installation Type: Select "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)".
- Partition Selection: You'll see a list of drives. Select each existing partition on the drive you want to install to and click "Delete". (Warning: This will erase all data on that drive!). You should end up with a single "Unallocated Space" entry. Select it and click "Next". Windows will create the necessary partitions automatically.
- The installation will now run. Your PC will restart several times.
