I need help with miracast/wireless display

hi, im trying to project my phone to my pc using the wireless display but im having an issue. The phone shows the computer as available device but as i try to connect to it, it just hangs. on my laptop it works just fine. I did netsh wlan show drivers and it says wireless display is supported, for a brief time it even showed my phone as previous connected device even if the connection just hanged and never went through, i tried the firewall  permissions and reinstalling the optional feature a bunch of times. How can i troubleshoot this or better yet fix it?

    In Settings > System > Cast to This PC, change Some Windows and Android devices can cast to this PC to Available everywhere, and restart the Wireless Display service.

    Check for the latest Wi-Fi driver updates from your device manufacturer or via Windows Update. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause connection issues.
