How to transfer photos from ipad to pc on Windows 11 with usb

Hi everyone, I have a lot of photos and videos on my iPad and need to move them to my Windows 11 PC. I tried plugging the iPad in with a USB cable, but the device sometimes doesn't show up correctly...

Why not use Windows File Explorer to transfer photos from iPad to PC with USB- This is the most straightforward method that requires no extra software on your PC and no paid app on your iPad. It works by treating your iPad like a digital camera.

What you'll need:

 * Your iPad's USB charging cable

 * A Windows PC

Step-by-step to transfer photos from iPad to PC with USB:

1. Connect and Unlock: Use your USB cable to connect your iPad to your PC. Then, unlock your iPad with your passcode.

2. Trust the Computer: A prompt will appear on your iPad screen asking "Trust This Computer?" Tap "Trust" or "Allow". This is necessary for the PC to access your photos.

3. Access on PC: On your Windows PC, open File Explorer.

4. Find Your iPad: In the left sidebar of File Explorer, you should see your iPad listed under "This PC" or as a portable device. Click on it.

5. Locate Photos: Double-click on "Internal Storage" and then open the "DCIM" folder. This is where all your photos and videos are stored. You may see multiple folders.

6. Copy and Paste: Open these folders, select the photos you want, and simply drag and drop them to any folder on your PC, like "Pictures" or "Desktop".

Do not delete or edit photos from the "DCIM" folder using File Explorer, as this can cause issues. Always manage your photos from within the Photos app on your iPad after transferring. Do not unplug your iPad during the transfer process to avoid data corruption.
