How to transfer 100 GB files on Windows 11 computer?
Method: Use a Local Network (Fastest & Most Reliable if Set Up Correctly)
Requirements:
- Both PCs connected to the same Wi-Fi network or via Ethernet for maximum speed.
- Shared folder on the Windows 10 PC.
How to transfer 100 GB files on Windows 11 computer:
1. Set Up File Sharing on Windows 10:
a. On your Windows 10 PC, create a new folder for transfer (e.g., "TransferFolder").
b. Right-click the folder > Properties > Sharing tab > Advanced Sharing.
c. Check "Share this folder" > Click Permissions.
d. Set permissions to "Read/Write" for "Everyone" or specific user.
e. Note the network path (e.g., \\YourPCName\TransferFolder).
2. Find Your Windows 10 PC Name or IP:
- Open Command Prompt (Win + R, type cmd, Enter).
- Type hostname to get PC name, or ipconfig to get IP address.
3. Access Shared Folder from Windows 11:
a. On your Windows 11 PC, open File Explorer.
b. Enter \\YourPCName\TransferFolder or \\IP_Address\TransferFolder in the address bar.
c. You should see the folder. Copy your large files into this folder.
4. Transfer Speed Tips:
