How to stop w11p auto system updates?

Hello:  is there a way to stop auto updates for the operating system only, windows 11pro? MS own advice goes to svcs.msc (fine). But there is no line in local gp policy ed>windows components>windows update>manage updates offered from windows update

  - corresponding to an instruction to disable just the system update. I do NOT want to disable security auto updates.

w11p 24h2 has a network connectivity problem in local network (security) now demanding a password where before there was not this password. I have had the computer revert to w11p 23h2, and the problem disappears. I do NOT want nor need a pw to view files on another local (not "internet" or global) network.

I also see there are 3rd-party products that may do what I ask.  Advice/experience?  Thank you.

To stop non-security updates without disabling security patches, set your network to metered or use third-party tools like O&O ShutUp10++ for more granular control.

The password prompt for local network sharing could be related to Network Profile Settings:
    1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under All Networks, find Password protected sharing.
    3. Turn Off if you want to share files without password prompts.

Press the Win+R key combination, in the pop-up Run window, type gpedit.msc and enter, open the Local Group Policy Editor, then expand the Computer Configuration Manager template Windows Components, find Windows Update, double-click Configure Automatic Updates on the right side of the window, in the pop-up interface, select Disabled, and then click OK.
