How to Password Protection a PDF on Mac
1. Open the target PDF file in Preview.
2. Select File → Export.
3. Check the “Encrypt” checkbox at the bottom of the Export window.
4. Enter a password, then re-enter the same password in the Confirm field.
5. Select the desired save location.
Once saved, the PDF file will be fully password-protected. Anyone who wants to open the document must enter the correct password. The entire process takes about 30 seconds.
