How to move items from "Show more options" into the main context menu?

Is there a way to move certain items from the second pop-up (the "Show more options" menu) into the main right-click menu? I barely use some of the items that show up by default, and it would be way more convenient to have the ones I actually need right there without the extra click.

Running Windows 11—anyone know if this is possible?

  • Windows 11 does not have a built-in option to move individual commands from Show more options into the main menu. The older menu contains legacy extensions; an app generally needs support for the newer context menu to appear there.

For the commands you use most, update the relevant app and check its settings for Windows 11 context menu integration. If the developer provides that option, enabling it can add the command to the main menu. Otherwise, Windows cannot simply promote the existing entry.

To skip the extra click now, hold Shift while right-clicking the file to open the classic menu directly. You can also select the file and press Shift + F10; some keyboards require Fn as well.

Utilities or registry tweaks that restore the classic menu change the whole menu rather than moving selected items into the newer one. For your specific goal, app support is the cleanest route; Shift + right-click is the easiest workaround.
