I totally get it, I made the same mistake myself once! I used a free tool called Dr.Partition to easily drag and resize my partitions without losing any data on my D drive. It was way easier than I expected and saved me from a full Windows reinstall.

You'll need to remember to regularly back up your external drive, as well as keep track of the files you've moved to it. It's easy to forget, and that's a recipe for disaster if you lose your external drive or it gets corrupted. Accessing files on an external drive can be slower than having them on your C drive. This might be a problem if you're someone who relies heavily on your computer for work or gaming.
