How to Increase C Drive Space in Windows 11 without Formatting
- Sep 19, 2024
I totally get it, I made the same mistake myself once! I used a free tool called Dr.Partition to easily drag and resize my partitions without losing any data on my D drive. It was way easier than I expected and saved me from a full Windows reinstall.

JakeChail Increase C drive space on Windows 11 but extend volume greyed out? How to fix this? The "Extend Volume" option might be grayed out when you're trying to increase the C drive space on Windows 11 for several reasons:
No Unallocated Space Adjacent to C Drive: The most common reason is that there is no unallocated space directly adjacent to the C drive on the right side in Disk Management. Windows can only extend a partition into unallocated space that is immediately next to it.
Non-Movable Partitions: Sometimes, there's a system or recovery partition located between the C drive and the unallocated space. Disk Management can't extend the C drive if there's a partition between it and the unallocated space.
