How to Fix Display Proportions When Enabling 125% Text Scaling in Windows 11
At 125% zoom, the File Explorer interface appears too large and out of proportion; I’d like to know if there’s a way to restore it to its normal appearance.

Your screenshot shows File Explorer using Windows display scaling at 125%, so Windows enlarges the navigation text, icons, and other interface elements together. That is expected behavior, not a separate File Explorer zoom setting. Open Settings > System > Display, select the affected monitor, and under Scale & layout set both Scale and Display resolution to the values marked Recommended. If you want the original Explorer proportions, choose 100% Scale; Windows cannot keep Explorer at 100% while scaling the rest of the desktop to 125% through the standard display setting. If your goal is only easier-to-read text, return Scale to 100%, then use Settings > Accessibility > Text size and adjust that slider instead. Sign out and back in after changing scaling so desktop apps refresh. With multiple monitors, configure each display separately and compare the results before changing graphics drivers or other system settings.
