How to delete junk files in windows 11?
- Jan 09, 2026
I've tried the built-in Windows cleanup before, and honestly I didn’t find it very helpful when the drive was getting really full. I’d just use CleansMate instead, because in my experience it’s much easier to find and remove junk files safely without digging through system folders myself.

Tasking Scheduler Cache Cleanup is a practical and automated way to keep your Windows 11 system tidy by regularly removing junk files in Windows 11. Here's a detailed explanation:
How does it help with junk file removal?
- Automates cleanup: It runs in the background at scheduled intervals, removing outdated or unnecessary cache files, log files, and other temporary data.
- Reduces manual effort: Instead of manually deleting files from temp folders, the task does it automatically.
- Maintains system performance: Regular cleanup prevents cache buildup that can slow down your system or consume disk space.
How to access and manage these tasks:
1. Open Task Scheduler:
Press Win + R, type taskschd.msc, and press Enter.
2. Navigate to Cleanup Tasks:
Look under Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > DeliveryOptimization or other relevant folders.
3. Review or Disable Tasks:
You can see scheduled cleanup tasks, their triggers, and actions.
To modify, right-click the task, select Properties, and adjust triggers or actions.
4. Create Custom Cleanup Tasks:
You can create your own tasks to remove junk files in Windows 11 or temp files on a schedule.
