How to create a password reset disk? Windows 11 has a built-in feature called "Recovery Environment" that allows you to create a password reset disk without knowing the password. Here's how:
- Restart your Windows 11 laptop and immediately start tapping the F11 key (or F8 key on older systems) until you see the "Recovery Environment" menu.
- Select "Troubleshoot" and then click on "Reset this PC".
- Click on "Get started" and follow the prompts to reset your PC.
- When prompted, select "Create a recovery drive" and follow the instructions to create the password reset disk.
Neither F11 or F8 worked ... or did anything at all for that matter. Never went to "Recovery Environment" and just went right back to the inescapable login screen
