Quick Look + Markup is a convenient native macOS feature that answers how to edit a pdf document on mac. It lets users annotate PDF files directly without launching the standalone Preview app and streamlines quick PDF markup tasks.
How to Edit a PDF Document on a Mac
- In Finder, locate and select the target PDF file.
- Press the Space bar to open the file in Quick Look.
- Click the circular pencil icon in the upper-right corner.
- Insert custom text, shapes, digital signatures, or highlights as needed.
- Click the Done button, and all edits will be automatically saved to the original PDF file.
Compared to opening a preview app separately, this shortcut workflow makes it more efficient to quickly edit PDFs on a Mac.
ps:Any changes you make will overwrite the original PDF file; if you need to keep an unedited copy, be sure to back up the source file first.
