Using a local network shared folder is an effective way to transfer files from Android to PC. This method involves sharing a folder on your PC over the network and then accessing it from your Android device. Here's how you can set it up:
Setting Up a Shared Folder on Windows
1. Create a Folder for Sharing
- Right-click on the folder you want to share.
- Select Properties.
- Go to the Sharing tab.
- Click Share….
- Choose Everyone from the dropdown (or specific users), then click Add.
- Set permissions to Read/Write if you want to transfer files from Android to PC.
- Click Share and note the network path (e.g., \\YourPCName\SharedFolder).
2. Allow Network Sharing in Windows Settings
- Open Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change advanced sharing settings.
- Enable Turn on network discovery and Turn on file and printer sharing.
- Save changes.
Accessing Shared Folder from Android
1. Install a File Manager with SMB Support
2. Connect to the Shared Folder
- Open your file manager.
- Navigate to the Network section.
- Select Add SMB Share or similar.
- Enter your PC’s IP address or network name.
- Enter credentials if prompted (for Windows login).
- Access the shared folder.
3. Transfer Files
- Copy files from your Android to the shared folder or vice versa.
