How do I split pdf pages into separate files on Windows 11?
You can use Microsoft Edge to split PDF pages into separate files. The process uses a clever trick: instead of actually printing anything, you use Edge's "Print" function with the "Microsoft Print to PDF" option to save specific pages as a brand new PDF file. This method is completely free, requires no additional software, and works on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Here is the step-by-step process to split PDF pages into separate files using Microsoft Edge:
Step 1: Open your PDF in Microsoft Edge
Find your PDF file in File Explorer
Right-click on the file
Choose Open with > Microsoft Edge
Step 2: Access the Print menu
Once the PDF is open, click the printer icon in the top toolbar
Alternatively, press Ctrl + P on your keyboard
Step 3: Select "Microsoft Print to PDF"
In the Print window that appears, click the "Printer" dropdown menu
Select "Microsoft Print to PDF" from the list
Step 4: Choose which pages to extract
In the "Pages" field, type the page numbers you want in your new PDF file
To extract a single page: type 7
To extract a range: type 3-6
To extract multiple specific pages: type 2,4,6
Step 5: Save your new PDF
Click the Print button at the bottom of the window
A "Save Print Output As" window will appear
Choose your destination folder, name your file, and click Save
That is it. You have now created a new PDF file containing only the pages you selected from your original document.
