How do I optimize my PC performance in Windows 11?
If your PC still feels sluggish after trying the steps above, you can try a "clean boot." This temporarily starts Windows with only essential services, helping you identify if a background program is causing the slowdown.
Using a Clean Boot is a fantastic, free, and powerful way to optimize my PC with Windows 11. When you normally start your PC, Windows loads the operating system and also launches a whole list of third-party apps and services from companies like Adobe, Google, or your printer manufacturer. Often, these programs run silently in the background, eating up your computer's Central Processing Unit (CPU) and memory (RAM), which causes general sluggishness and slow startups.
Do not worry about breaking anything. This process is completely reversible and safe. Follow these steps to
optimize my PC with Windows 11:
Step 1: Open System Configuration
Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
Type msconfig into the box and click OK .
Step 2: Disable Third-Party Services
In the System Configuration window, click on the Services tab.
This is a critical step: At the bottom of the window, check the box that says "Hide all Microsoft services" . This protects the essential parts of Windows.
Click the "Disable all" button. This turns off every non-Microsoft service that is currently running.
Step 3: Disable Startup Apps
Next, click on the Startup tab in System Configuration.
Click the link that says "Open Task Manager" .
A new Task Manager window will open. You will see a list of applications that launch when you turn on your PC.
Click on each item that says "Enabled" and then click the Disable button in the bottom-right corner .
Close Task Manager.
Step 4: Restart Your PC
Back in the System Configuration window, click OK.
When prompted, click Restart.
