Turn on Messages sync on iPhone. This is the official approache for saving text messages from iPhone to a Windows PC or Mac.

Steps:

1. On your iPhone, open Settings and tap your Apple ID name.

2. Go to iCloud and turn on Messages.

3. On your Mac, open the Messages app and sign in with the same Apple ID.

4. In the Messages app, go to Settings > iMessage and enable Messages in iCloud.

5. Wait for the conversations to sync. After syncing, you can copy text messages or print conversations directly from your Mac.

iCloud Messages is a good solution for users who already use Apple devices and want wireless access to their iPhone text messages on a computer. It is simple and automatic, but it mainly focuses on syncing messages rather than exporting them into formats like PDF, CSV, or TXT.

Besides this, you can also take screenshot and save text messages from iPhone as PDF. 

It does not require extra software, and the saved images keep the original message layout. Open the Messages app on your iPhone, choose the conversation, and take screenshots of the messages you want to keep. On newer iPhones, press the Side button + Volume Up button at the same time.
