How Can I Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 on unsupported hardware?
- Mar 18, 2025
1. Download Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft.
2. Make a Windows 11 bootable USB with WiinBootMate. This will bypass Windows 11 system checks.
3. Go to the USB drive and run setup.exe.
4. Now, you can start a clean install from USB or choose in-place upgrade by running the setup.exe from the USB drive without losing data.

I think I followed your instructions properly, but Microsoft still says my computer isn't compatible
Me too, I think Microsoft have shut down that workaround now. I've used it in the past.
The only way I can get Windows 11 onto unsupported hardware now is to use a USB boot drive setup for installing Windows 10 and replace the sources folder with one from a Windows 11 USB boot drive.
So far I've only tried it with an early version of Windows 11 (21H2) which is end of life.
This won't upgrade to a newer version of Windows 11 without the unsupported error.
If I ever find time I'll test with a newer version of Windows 11
