How can I update Windows 11 23H2 to 25H2 on my pc?
Windows 11 25H2 is rolling out gradually, so it’s normal that Windows Update still shows 23H2 as “up to date.” Microsoft does this to avoid compatibility issues.
You have two safe options:
1. Wait for Windows Update (safest)
If you don’t need it urgently, waiting is the lowest-risk option. Once Microsoft clears your device, 25H2 will appear automatically and install like a normal feature update.
2. Upgrade manually (still safe)
You can install 25H2 without losing files or apps by using Microsoft’s official tools:
- Windows 11 Installation Assistant, or
- Download the Windows 11 25H2 ISO, mount it, and run setup.exe → choose Keep personal files and apps
This is the same method IT admins use and is generally reliable on supported hardware.
My experience / general advice
Upgrading directly from 23H2 to 25H2 works fine on most systems. Issues usually come from outdated BIOS, storage drivers, or security software, so updating those first helps.
