How can I uninstall Microsoft Bing in Windows 11 permanently?
If you don't see the "Web results" switch, you can force-enable this hidden official feature yourself. This is the most challenging, complex, and free command-line method that avoids all the tools you mentioned. To remove Microsoft Bing from Windows 11, it uses ViVeTool, a well-known open-source utility used by enthusiasts to unlock hidden Windows features. It doesn't modify system files; it simply toggles feature flags that Microsoft has already placed in your system.
Step-by-Step Guide to remove Microsoft Bing from Windows 11:
1. Install the Required Update: First, ensure you have installed the August 2026 optional update, KB5120998. Go to Settings > Windows Update and install it. Restart your PC.
2. Download ViVeTool: Go to the official ViVeTool page on GitHub (search for ViVeTool on GitHub) and download the latest release. Extract the .zip file to a simple folder, for example, C:\ViVeTool.
3. Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Click the Start button, type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select Run as administrator.
4. Navigate to the ViVeTool Folder: In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
cmd
cd C:\ViVeTool
5.Run the Feature Enable Command: Type the following command and press Enter:
cmd
vivetool /enable /id:62353331,62762248

6.Restart Your Computer.
After restarting, the new "Show suggested search results" option should appear in your search settings (click the gear icon in the top-right of the search panel). You can then turn off "Web search" to permanently disable Bing from Windows Search.
