How can I uninstall Microsoft Bing in Windows 11 permanently?
The important distinction here is that Bing isn't really an app that can be uninstalled from Control Panel. The Bing results you're seeing from Start Search are part of Windows Search, which uses Bing for web results.
If your goal is simply to stop Bing/web results from appearing in Start Search, I'd try this first:
Settings → Privacy & security → Search permissions
Then disable the available cloud content/search highlights options.
If you're on Windows 11 Pro/Enterprise/Education, you can also control web searching through Group Policy. Microsoft provides policies for controlling Internet/web search behavior in Start Search.
For example:
gpedit.msc → User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Search
Look for policies related to Do not search the web / Don't search the web or display web results in Search (the exact available policies can vary by Windows build).
There have also been registry-based workarounds such as:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
with a DWORD named:
DisableSearchBoxSuggestions = 1
However, I'd treat registry hacks as a workaround rather than the preferred solution because Windows Search behavior has changed between Windows 11 builds.
So I wouldn't try to "uninstall Bing" itself. Disable web results in Windows Search instead — that's the part causing the Start-menu searches to open Bing.
