How Can I Download Apple Music Free to Computer
Hi,
I'm new to Apple Music streaming services and need some help. I want to use Apple Music on my Windows computer for free, but not sure how to get started. Could someone explain how to download apple music free to computer?
I'd also like to know if the downloaded songs stay available after the trial ends. Please keep in mind that I'm not tech-savvy, so simple steps would be greatly appreciated! And I am using a Windows 10 PC.
Much appreciated for your help!

Trying to download Apple Music for free through unofficial means is kinda shady and could get you in trouble. Apple’s pretty strict about DRM (digital rights management), so unless you're using their official trial or free options, you might run into scams, malware, or viruses. Been there, seen it happen. If you find a way to get free Apple Music, the quality might be compromised. Plus, you might not be able to download songs properly, or the files could be low quality, or DRM-protected, so you can’t keep them forever.
Even if you somehow download Apple Music for free, they’re often not truly yours. They’re usually DRM-protected, meaning you can’t transfer or use them on other devices freely. Plus, if the method you used gets shut down or tracked, your access could disappear. My own experience and what I’ve heard from friends is that many “free” download sites or hacks are full of viruses or scams. It’s just not worth risking your computer’s safety for a few songs.

Apple Music is mainly a streaming service. If you download songs through it, they’re basically tied to your subscription. When your subscription ends, the songs might stop working or become inaccessible, unlike bought tracks that stay in your library forever. Unlike buying songs outright (like in the steps you mentioned), Apple Music downloads are more like rentals. You get to listen as long as you're subscribed, but once you cancel, those downloads often turn into “missing” files.
Apple Music streams in AAC format, and downloads are also in a compressed format. If you're into high-fidelity audio or want the original files, Apple Music might not cut it, especially since you can't easily convert or get the original files. To listen offline or download Apple music, you need to be signed in with your Apple ID, and the songs are DRM-protected. That means you can’t just transfer these files freely to other devices or use them in non-Apple apps easily.
If your subscription lapses or Apple decides to change their policies, you might lose access to your downloaded Apple music. That’s a big difference from owning MP3s that you bought outright. Downloading a lot of music from Apple Music can eat up your device’s storage since they’re stored in a compressed format, and you might need to manage storage carefully.
In my own experience, I’ve found that if you really want permanent access to specific songs, buying them outright is the way to go. Streaming services like Apple Music are great for discovering new tunes and enjoying a huge library without cluttering your device, but if you want control and permanence, downloads or purchases are better.

You can get and download apple music free from iTunes store for some of the songs.
Method 1: Check the "Free on iTunes" Section
Apple occasionally offers free singles, albums, or music videos in the iTunes Store.
1. Open iTunes (Windows) or the Music app (Mac).
2. Go to the iTunes Store (click "Store" in the left sidebar).
3. Scroll to the bottom → Under "Quick Links," look for:
- Free on iTunes
- Free Music Videos
- Free Singles of the Week (if available)
4. Click "Get" to download the free song/album.
5. You may need to confirm with your Apple ID (no payment required).
Method 2: Search for Free Songs Manually
- Some artists/labels offer free tracks as promotions.
- In the iTunes Store, type "free" in the search bar.
- Filter by "Songs" or "Albums".
- Sort by Price (Low to High) – some $0.00 tracks may appear.
Free iTunes songs are rare now (Apple focuses on Apple Music). For regular free music, you can use a desktop app to download infinite free apple music to computer!

If you're thinking about downloading Apple Music free on your computer, a few things come to mind that you definitely want to steer clear of—trust me!
1. First off, avoid shady websites or third-party download links. There are tons of sites out there claiming to offer free Apple Music downloads, but most of them are scams or contain malware. You don’t want to accidentally download a virus or get your info hijacked—that’s a nightmare.
2. Second, don’t fall for fake or cracked software. Some folks might suggest using cracked versions or hacking tools to unlock Apple Music for free. That’s risky as hell—your account could get banned, or worse, your device could get infected.
3. Third, be cautious of fake apps or fake installers. Sometimes, malicious apps pretend to be Apple Music but are actually malware. Always double-check the source—preferably stick to official channels or trusted platforms.
Now, from my experience (well, what I’ve seen around), if you want to listen to Apple Music legally and safely without paying, your best bet is to try the free trial offered by Apple. It’s legit and gives you full access for a limited time. Just remember to cancel before it ends if you don’t want to be charged.
Also, if you're looking to download Apple music free for offline listening, avoid shady hacks—these can mess with your device or Apple ID. Instead, consider using Apple’s official features if you’re a subscriber.

The iTunes Store and Apple Music are two different services, but both are accessible through iTunes (on Windows/macOS) or the Music app (on macOS). Here's how to use the iTunes Store to purchase and download Apple music free to your computer permanently (not the same as Apple Music's streaming service).
How to download apple music free
1. Open iTunes (Windows) or Music App (macOS).
2. Go to Account > Sign In (enter your Apple ID). Ensure your payment method is set up (Account > View My Account > Payment Information).
3. Click on "iTunes Store" (left sidebar in iTunes) or "Store" (in the Music app). If you don’t see it, enable it in Preferences > General > Show iTunes Store.
4. Browse or search for songs/albums. Click the price button (e.g., $0.99 for a song, $9.99 for an album). Confirm the purchase.
5. After buying, the song/album will appear in your Library > Purchased. Click the "Download" (cloud icon) button to save it to your computer.
How to Locate Downloaded Apple Music Files
Windows: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music
macOS: /Users/[YourUsername]/Music/Music/Media/Music
💡 Note: Purchased iTunes music is DRM-free (you own it forever), unlike Apple Music streams.
