How can I bulk convert png to jpg on Windows 11 with the Photos app?
- Sep 06, 2024
No, the Photos app on Windows 11 does not support batch conversion of images. It only allows you to convert one image at a time. For batch PNG to JPG conversion, you can use other tools instead.
I work in design and often need to convert different image formats. I have been using Any2Pic (https://www.uumeo.com/bulk-png-to-jpg) for two years and it is pretty good overall! I recommend you to try it!
Rheanson When bulk converting PNG to JPG without losing quality on Windows 10 or Windows 11, here are several important things to keep in mind:
Loss of Transparency: PNG files support transparency, while JPG files do not. Any transparent areas in a PNG will be replaced by a solid color (typically white) when converted to JPG. Ensure this doesn’t impact the visual appearance of your images.
Quality Settings: JPEG is a compressed format, and during conversion, you may lose some image quality. Most batch conversion tools allow you to adjust the compression level. Use a lower compression ratio (higher quality setting) to maintain as much quality as possible.
Color Profiles: Check if the conversion tool preserves or modifies the color profiles. Some tools may alter the color profile during conversion, which can result in color shifts.
Metadata Preservation: Some tools might strip metadata (EXIF, IPTC, etc.) from the image during conversion. Ensure the tool you use either preserves the metadata or gives you the option to keep it.
By considering these points, you can ensure that the free PNG to JPG conversion process goes smoothly and meets your quality requirements.
