I recently had the same hassle with a huge batch of CR2 photos from my Canon. I tried a few different options, but Any2Pic ended up being the easiest for what I needed. It handled over a thousand photos without freezing up, which was a relief since some tools just crash under that load. It’s completely offline, so I didn’t have to worry about uploading anything, and the image quality stayed solid in the conversion to JPG.

The CR2 file type stands for Canon Raw Version 2, a file format used by Canon digital cameras to store uncompressed image data. CR2 files contain raw image data directly from the camera's sensor. It is great for more flexibility in post-processing because they retain more detail and color information compared to compressed image formats like JPG.
For better share and edit, it is more recommended to convert .cr2 to .jpg. Fortunately, you can do this with the Photos app on Windows PC, at least for Windows 11.
