Headphone jacks that stop recognizing devices

My Windows 11 laptop no longer detects anything when I plug headphones into the 3.5mm audio jack, even though it used to work perfectly fine before. The system acts as if nothing was connected, and I've already tried updating drivers and checking sound settings without any success, so I'm hoping someone can suggest a fix for this recognition issue.
