Fx-audio Dac-X6 drivers fail after 14/01/2024 update
Hello
I have an issue that my DAC is not recognized by windows after latest update. There is code 10 in drivers (It is polish language):
Nie można uruchomić tego urządzenia. (Kod 10)
Zasoby systemu są niewystarczające do ukończenia operacji API.
When i was backing windows up it went even further. Repair tool reinstalled some system files on E. partition xD. So software just crashed and i had to reinstall windows.
On the very first launch everything was fine. DAC installed their drivers automatically. It was recognized by soft, and played the sound.
When I updated and restarted pc the problem was back, though. Again code 10. "System resources does not perform requirements to finish the API operation".
Is there any possibility for install selective updates?
Please, help!
Excause my english, I try my best.
I had exact same issue with exact same DAC, I logged in to save you time and headaches. 1 of the below fixed the issue for me, I am not sure which as I did both at the same time,
1. Windows Update > Update History> > Uninstall updates. I uninstalled all 3 available to me, it might be different for you but mine are seen in the screenshot below. I also PAUSED UPDATES FOR 5 WEEKS
2. I downloaded and ran the SFX DAC-X6 audio driver installer from their website found here.Once you do both the above, reboot and let me know how it goes. You may need to uninstall the device from device manager, then scan for hardware changes. In windows search Device Manager, expand sound, Right click DAC-X6, uninstall, Right-click, scan for hardware changes.

In my case removing KB5050009 does the trick.
Driver from szfxaudio.com (BRAVO-HD software) is useless for me...

I spent way more time troubleshooting this than I’d like to admit when I first ran into the issue. Below is my conclusion.
I believe the issue is tied specifically to the following security update. The patch notes mention that the security update is designed to block drivers with known security flaws. So, it seems likely that either it’s a false positive, or the driver does indeed have a security vulnerability that needs to be addressed by FX-Audio.
There does seem to be a way to disable the driver block in windows security without having to pause updates. See the following link for more details.

Although I don't have the same code for the latest update, it did fix the problem after I uninstalled it.

If you only download drivers it doesn' t change nothing.
You need to remove this update.

I have the same problem with my HiFimeDIY Sabre USB DAC. Windows restore fixed the problem temporarily by the problem reappeared after Windows update...

KB5050021 seems to be the cause of the issue. Uninstalling the other ones installed in mid Jan 2025 did not fix anything, uninstalling KB5050021 and a reboot did the trick.

I have a Gustard R26, an SMSL D300, TEAC UD-501, and an iFi Nano (Ist generation). With three different PC's and switch between them with no issues.

Fix for me was uninstalling Security Update KB5050009

Thanks for the simple fix.

Yeah, this fixed it for me also by uninstalling the windows update, I will pause the updates for now

This worked for me, I also paused the updates after this. Any suggestions on what to do next? do I try to manually install some new DAC drivers and reinstall the windows update?

Same issue here, anyone find a solution? Everything worked fine before the last windows update.
