Forgot iPhone passcode. How can I unlock iPhone without reset
If you enter the wrong passcode five times in a row, the "iPhone Unavailable" screen appears. On that screen, you'll see a "Forgot Passcode?" option at the bottom corner—but only if your device is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data . Tapping this option lets you enter your previous passcode (the one you actually remember). Once you do, you're immediately prompted to create a new passcode and regain access to your device .
This feature is only available for 72 hours (three days) after you change your passcode . After that window closes, the option disappears, and you'll need to resort to erasing your device through Recovery Mode or iCloud instead.
If you're still within the 72-hour window, here's how to unlock iPhone without passcode:
1. On your lock screen, enter your new passcode incorrectly five times
2. Wait for the "iPhone Unavailable" screen to appear (a timer may count down)
3. Tap "Forgot Passcode?" in the bottom-right corner
4. Tap "Enter Previous Passcode"
5. Type in your old passcode—the one you used before the recent change
6. Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new passcode you'll remember
That's it. Your iPhone unlocks, all your data remains intact, and you can set a passcode you won't forget .
If you changed your passcode yesterday and still have access to the old one, this feature is your best chance to unlock iPhone without passcode and keep all your data intact. Don't delay—the 72-hour window is actively counting down, and once it expires, your only free option will be erasing the device entirely.
