Forgot iPhone passcode. How can I unlock iPhone without reset
When you need to unlock iPhone if I forgot passcode, DFU Mode is an advanced deep-recovery mode, but it is a more complex operation that requires precise timing, and it can erase everything on your iPhone. This powerful mode helps users unlock iPhone if I forgot passcode even when regular Recovery Mode fails.
It allows you to completely reset your iPhone and reinstall iOS. The process is a bit complicated, but just follow my steps—I’ve done this before.
First, connect your iPhone to a Mac or PC via USB cable. Then follow the correct key combination to enter DFU Mode:
- For iPhone 8–15 models: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button → Press and quickly release the Volume Down button → Hold the Side button for about 10 seconds → While the screen remains black, hold the Side button and the Volume Down button for another 5 seconds → Release the Side button, but continue holding the Volume Down button for about 15 seconds until your computer detects the device.
- For iPhone 7/7 Plus: Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Side button simultaneously → Continue holding for about 8 seconds → Release the Side button, but keep holding the Volume Down button until the computer detects the device.
Once in DFU Mode, open Finder or iTunes on your computer, select your iPhone and click "Restore" to reinstall iOS and reset the device.
After the restore is complete, you can set up your iPhone as new or restore from a previous backup.
This method is used when regular Recovery Mode doesn’t work, so it is only suitable for users who have tried other official methods without success.
If you prefer not to use third-party tools, you can try this mode. This is a very powerful operation. Just follow the steps I give you — it's not difficult, but it does require careful attention.
