Folder Authorization Problem
I’m experiencing a problem with folder authorization. No matter what I’ve done, I haven’t been able to find a solution. Perhaps I can find someone here who can help.
I used to store five years’ worth of photos and videos with my partner—that is, every memory of us—on my computer. Since I wanted to keep them private, I encrypted everything (including all subfolders) using Windows’ built-in system. Later on, I transferred these files to an external hard drive. Then, at some point, I formatted my computer, and unfortunately, now I cannot access any of the files or folders that belong to us. They are all right in front of me, but they won’t open. I receive warnings such as “You do not have user access privileges” or “You may not have permission to view this file.” I’ve tried many things related to authorization procedures, but I haven’t found any solution.
What can I do? Can anyone help me?

Right click on the folder→Properties→Security→Edit→Add user and give full control basically solves the problem.
