Find My Device
Find My Device is not a live tracking or live battery-monitoring service. The location and battery information can be old, especially if the PC was asleep, offline, or had not recently reported its status. A displayed battery level of 0% does not necessarily mean that the battery is actually empty.
On the PC, open Settings > Privacy & security > Find my device and make sure it is turned on. Then open Settings > Privacy & security > Location and turn on Location services. The PC must also be signed in with the same personal Microsoft account used on the Find My Device website, connected to the internet, and powered on for it to send a current location.
After enabling those settings, restart the PC, connect it to Wi-Fi, and leave it awake for a few minutes before checking the device again at account.microsoft.com/devices. If the device is a desktop PC or does not have GPS, Windows may only show an approximate location based on the network, rather than an exact position.
If the switches are missing, disabled, or show that they are managed by an organization, the PC may be controlled by a work or school policy. In that case, the organization’s IT administrator would need to review the setting. If location still never updates while the PC is online and awake, confirm that Windows is fully updated and remove then re-add the device only after verifying that the correct Microsoft account is in use.
