Hello everyone, I'm also a victim.
Fellow users, after the recent KB5124010 update, the file history can find and run backup drives, but the last copy date of the files remains unchanged, preventing any new files from being backed up.
After editing and saving a file, clicking the "Execute Now" button under "Control Panel" → "System and Security" → "File History" fails to update the last copy date and time in the file history to the actual latest save time.
Version Not Updated: The target drive D has normal read/write functionality. However, even after confirming that the file was successfully saved, clicking the "Execute Now" button does not update the file version or backup timestamp.
Missing Previous Version: In file properties → "Previous Versions," modified or newly added files display previous versions, but not the latest update date. New versions are also not displayed; it still shows "No previous version available," failing to reflect the latest update date.
I suspect this issue persists even after the KB5101684 and KB5120249 updates on July 29th.
Are you still encountering this issue? On September 23, I contacted Microsoft support to report a minor issue with the file history log caused by the KB5124010 update. Several other users also reported the same problem. Microsoft support sent an email two days later confirming that they were aware of the issue and were currently investigating.
