Feedback on Windows 11
I've been a Windows customer since the beginning. I was doing computing back on the TSR-80, when we still saved information on audio tape. However, with the changes in the last few versions of Windows; I feel I can on longer use a Windows product.
I've been using a Windows 11 system for several months now, and I've hated every time I had to use it. With the increase in non-optional "optional" and non-removable features; I've decided that it's time to move onto a Linux based system.
Sincerely,
a former Microsoft customer.

Biggest piece of crap ever, and I've been using Microsoft Windows ever since "Windows for Workgroups". They haven't put out a decent operating system since XP.

Windows 7 was the last decent OS for me. 10 was survivable with how slow it was on some systems. 11 looks like it's supposed to run on a phone

Microsoft is quickly becoming one of the most irritating companies to deal with. I recently updated to Windows 11 (5 minutes ago), and now I can't go back because, guess what, the information I need to revert was already deleted. I mean, who would have foreseen that updating to a worse product would make you want to go back? Microsoft, which is why the moment they have you in the cage, that is Windows 11, they seal every exit shut. This is by far the worst Windows update to have ever existed, and this is coming from someone who blindly defended Microsoft the first time for Windows 8. It's not even like the complaints are outrageous, even if we have negative knowledge about coding or programming, it's not that difficult to NOT REMOVE FEATURES THAT HAVE BEEN ON THE OS FOR THE LAST BILLION YEARS OF IT OPERATING LIKE PLEASE GIVE ME ANY SEMBLANCE OF A LOGICAL RESPONSE ON WHY I CANT MOVE MY TASKBAR TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY SCREEN. But I know Microsoft will never read or acknowledge this because I am already one of the idiots who updated to this garbage with no actual plan of recourse because we trusted in the garbage company.

It seems, Windows have been degrading with every version rather than making improvements. Taskbar height customization has been eliminated. Start menu requires additional click to see full Apps menu, among other things. Every new version of Windows is more frustrating. I don't know why they keep changing to make it harder to find the features that we have already been using, but are now hard to find. They make life harder, rather than making it easier. They need to bring in designers with better IQ.

Yeah - I'm done..
I took the time and pain of switching to Windows 11, if for no other reason that I was planning to buy a new machine and figured it would be a good idea to learn Win11 now because all new machines will have Win11. Glad I did that becuase now I know what Win11 is all about - and I REALLY don't like it.
I've been using Win11 for about year and the departure from Win10 is more dramatic than advertised. Features and functions behave differently, well-known apps are still there but hard to find yet still required to do some tasks. For example, I am typing this VERY slowly. Why? Because I had to dial back the keyboard settings to the slowest setting otherwise words would have long strings of repeated characters, like ttttttttttttthhisssssssssss. Control Panel is the only path to reduce the repeat and delay options, yet you won't find it in Settings.
Through trial and error I beleive this keyboard problem is caused by "Efficiency Mode" in the task manager. I use the same setup on a Win10 machine (same keyboard, software, docking station, etc.) and I do not experience this issue. Further investigation shows that Efficiency Mode can be disabled temporarily and only for specific sessions - despite Microsoft's claim otherwise. So, I cannot permanently disable Efficiency Mode to see if that is in fact the source.
Win11 is not designed for me. It is designed for Microsoft so that everyone can have a browser that cannot be deleted or removed (Edge). I don't use Edge and it is corporate behavior like this that makes me REFUSE to use Edge as my browser. It was my hope that Win11 would be the OS based on Edge and plays nicely with other apps and meets my needs as well or better than Win10. Greatly, greatly, disappointed.

Dear kids of Microsoft,
why don´t you play with other toys than Windows!?
You simply do not understand what professionals need.
We do not need an operating system with useless windows apps, which once de-installed come back with every update so I have to de-install them again.
Your desire for dollars is simply disgusting!
I love my MacsKind regards

Windows 11 is one of the worst thing that happened to Microsoft Windows, working with it is a nightmare, my old raspberry pi performs faster!

Today I got Windows 11 installed at my notebook at work.
As someone wrote before: LET ME CUSTOMIZE MY TASKBAR !!
microsoft: Why did you remove the Quick Launch ? Instead of improving work you make it worse !
And this is not the first time. You did the same with the update from Windows 7 to 8 !

Please re-introduce a vertical Task Bar in Win11!
Is anyone of Microsoft reading this blog?

LET ME CUSTOMIZE MY TASKBAR.
I use two vertical screens and one horizontal.
The center, horizontal, screen I'm unable to make the taskbar two rows deep, which is obnoxious.
In addition i am now unable to have vertical taskbars on both my side screens- only horizontal at the bottom.
Horrible update for a work environment

For work environment, Windows 10 LTSC is great, and has support till 2032.

They removed VERTICAL TASKBARS! Atleast keep all windows 10 features when updating! Also ruined all my customization like TranslucentTB, gadgetpack, Aero glass, custom start button, custon start sound, displayfusion and much more.
Also new teams takes ages to load up.
Just take a look at windows corrupting its own critical files when updating.

Windows 11 is the biggest POS get someone with a brain to redo it because it's a nightmare or just go back to windows 10. Whoever looked at windows 11 and said "this is an upgrade" needs to be fired
