If you’re viewing TikTok videos on your computer and can’t download them directly, you can record the screen using built-in tools on Windows or macOS. This method lets you save any TikTok video to MP4 file without relying on third-party tiktok to mp4 downloader sites or risking unwanted watermarks. It’s especially useful for saving videos that are private, restricted, or unavailable for download.

Steps to Record TikTok Videos on Windows 10/11:

Open the TikTok video in your browser.

Press Win + G to launch the Xbox Game Bar.

Click the Capture button (camera icon) and then hit Start Recording (●).

Play the TikTok video in full.

Press Win + Alt + R to stop the recording.

Go to C:\Users[YourName]\Videos\Captures to find the MP4 recording.

Steps to Record TikTok Videos on Mac:

Open the TikTok video in Safari or another browser.

Press Command + Shift + 5 to open the screen recording toolbar.

Select Record Selected Portion and drag to cover the video area.

Click Record, then play the TikTok video.

When finished, click the Stop button in the menu bar.

The MP4 video will be saved to your Desktop by default.
