Cant use windows backup
On windows 11 I keep getting a message saying could not find backup devices, this happens when I connect my usb drive, would it be because I am using Vererypt on the usb hard drive? If I unmount it will find my hard drives in my computer, but i want to back up to my external drive.

The Windows Backup utility is designed to look for physical, recognizable backup devices (like a plain external hard drive, or a dedicated NAS).
When you encrypt a drive with Vererypt, you create an encrypted container (a file) or you encrypt the entire partition. When the Vererypt volume is dismounted, Windows sees the raw, unformatted (and often unrecognizable) partition. It doesn't see a valid drive letter or file system it can use.
