Can’t make brightens a little less bright
I have a surface laptop 4 and it’s so buggy, every time I go down just 1 brightness it gets so dark as seen in the pictures below, and it’s basically impossible to use if it’s not at 100. Anyone know what’s wrong with it and how I would be able to fix it to not go so dark?

Sounds like auto-brightness/contrast (CABC) is kicking in too hard. Quick fixes:
Settings → System → Display: turn OFF “Change brightness automatically…” and “Automatically adjust contrast based on content.”
Turn OFF HDR and Night light.
Battery saver: disable “Lower screen brightness when in battery saver.”
Update Surface/graphics drivers (Windows Update + Surface app); if needed, reinstall the display adapter in Device Manager.
Check Intel/AMD graphics app (or Surface UEFI if available) and disable any dynamic contrast/brightness options. - DroakeIron Contributor
Adjust the brightness slider in Settings > System > Display, or enable Night Light. On some devices, fine-tuning may require keyboard shortcuts.
