When you use the mic over a standard Bluetooth connection, Windows forces the headset into "Hands-Free Profile" (HFP/HSP). This mode is designed for phone calls, so it drops the audio quality dramatically (think mono, low bitrate) to save bandwidth for the microphone. The high-quality stereo mode (A2DP) can't run at the same time as the mic.

Look for Bluetooth adapters that support Bluetooth 5.0 or higher, A2DP (for high-quality audio), and HFP/HSP profiles (for microphone support). Not all adapters support both audio and mic simultaneously, so check specifications carefully.
