Blue Screen
I get this screen on my laptop.
It's an HP envy x360 with an Intel core i7.
it happen all the time and nothing ever happens. I restart my computer and it seems to be fine, but this happens always while I am in the middle of a project. Does this happen to anyone else, and if so, how did you fix it without throwing it out the window!?!???
- AmppintCopper ContributorIf you’re still having problems, it might be a sign of failing hardware, like the hard drive or RAM. If you’re comfortable, open the laptop and check for loose connections. If you're not comfortable with that, consider seeking professional help.
- ZacomipCopper ContributorThe first step is to pay attention to the error code or message that appears when your screen goes blue. Sometimes it gives you a specific stop code (like “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” or “KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE”), which can help identify the issue. Write it down or take a picture for reference.
- JaydenSuCopper ContributorEnsure your operating system and all drivers, especially for graphics, chipset, and peripherals, are up to date. You can do this via Windows Update or the HP Support Assistant.
- AllonsoIron ContributorFirst thing's first—boot your laptop in Safe Mode and see if the problem persists. Safe Mode loads Windows with minimal drivers and might help you figure out if the issue is caused by third-party software.
