Best way to compress flac audio files to small size?
Large FLAC collections can take up considerable storage space, especially when you keep albums and recordings in lossless quality. Before converting everything to another format, it can be useful to organize the library and check which files you actually need to keep.
MusicBrainz Picard is a music library manager that helps identify and organize audio files using metadata. It can automatically match tracks with album information, making it easier to keep a large collection structured.
If your main goal is to reduce size of flac files, you will usually need a separate audio conversion tool because metadata management alone does not significantly reduce the audio size. After organizing the library, you can choose which files are worth converting and reduce size of flac files while keeping the original collection organized.
