Best snipping tool for Windows 11 and where to download?
I don't recommend using the built-in snipping tool on Windows 11 as well. Here are the reasons:
Windows 11 comes with a screenshot tool (shortcut Win+Shift+S) that supports full-screen, window and area screenshots, but the functionality is relatively basic. For example, after taking a screenshot, you can only use the mapping tool to make simple annotations, lack of advanced editing features (such as erase, mosaic, arrows, etc.), and can not be directly saved as a PDF or a long image format, you need to rely on a third-party tool for secondary processing, which is less efficient. That's why it is not a good snipping tool for Windows 11 to download.
The entrance to the tool is scattered, users need to manually open the "Photo Library" after taking a screenshot or paste it through the clipboard, the operation process is not coherent. In addition, the default saving path for screenshots is "This computer\Picture\Screenshot", which is not customizable, and the files are automatically filed by date, which makes it difficult to retrieve the files. For users who need to quickly record the main points of the meeting or frequently take screenshots, this design is likely to cause a waste of time.
Some users reported that there is a slight lag when taking full-screen screenshots, especially in high-resolution screens. Meanwhile, the tool doesn't support multi-monitor operations (e.g., cross-screen screenshots), and it can't directly scroll through the content of long web pages. For gamers or video editors, the lack of real-time screen recording is also a major shortcoming and it is difficult to meet the needs of professional scenarios.
