Apple Airpods Bluetooth issue on Windows 11
I've just upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and got some strange issue on Bluetooth audio. The volume is seem softer than Windows 10 that I must turn the volume to Maximum but it is still too soft.
This worked for me:
Go to start ->Run ->MMSYS.CPL
select Playback tab ->then select the airpods pro (highlight) ->and click properties
In the 'headphones' properties dialog box --> select Enhancement tab --> select Loudness Equalization (tick mark)
Now click Apply and OK.

- Jared2600Copper ContributorGo into Device Manager and disable Airpods Hands-Free under Sound Devices. You'll need to restart your computer.
Games were flipping to hands-free mode even with the device disabled in the Sound Settings. This behavior was normally disabled in Win10 but theres some sort of exception path occurring. - TazmanCopper Contributor
I retract my last statement. The following does work:
1. Under Show Bluetooth devices, remove your airpods2. Turn off bluetooth by flicking the switch at top.
3. Press and hold reset button on airpod case, KEEP HOLDING until you see the ORANGE blinking light. Then let go.
4. Turn bluetooth back on and re-pair your airpods..
5. Happy Days!

I was unable to even play music upon now as the sound was cursed. Re-pair, uninstall driver, update, etc all did not work. However, your stated way (10s holding the setup button of the AirPods upon the orange light) has worked and fixed all issues (sound is however still not maxed out compared to win 10 or iOS).
- povftwrCopper Contributorthis worked! thank you!!!!
- TazmanCopper ContributorSame issue for me however I am using the standard airpods. I also had this issue in the pre-release version of Windows 11. The fixes mentioned here do increase the volume slightly but full volume is nowhere near where it should be. So people have said it worked for them because they heard a slight increase in volume but the issue remains.. If you connect them to any other Windows 10 PC you will hear the difference. Because of this issue I'm going back to Windows 10 until microsoft fix the problem. It is a microsoft problem and not an Apple problem because they work fine under Windows 10.. I won't hold my breath for a fix..
- amirdrbCopper ContributorI had the same problem since updating to windows 11. Mine was fixed by forgetting the Airpods Pro from the list of bluetooth devices on my laptop (and also my iPhone, but not sure if it affects it). After, I did a full reset of Airpods Pro and reconnected to my laptop. It is working fine since then! it seems pretty simple but hope works for you as well!

Reks4u Didn't work on my end, hopefully, some more people can test this.

same issues - driving me insane - wasted loads of time with fixes mentioned here to no avail; following and hoping that a fix sorts this out quickly
- JakePaustianCopper ContributorFigured I'd give my two cents as well to keep the issue alive, since this is an issue on my end too. Something I found was that if you go into Control Panel > Sound > Recording, just sitting inside this menu my volume actually works as intended, however the audio quality hits the fan HARD. All of the solutions posted thus far did not work as others have pointed out. From what I can tell, this is simply a bug Microsoft needs to patch.
- meteor-boyCopper ContributorSame here. My Airpods Pro sound is very low after updating from windows10 to windows11.
- AdayRCopper ContributorSame here. After upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, my Airpods sound is very low (set to the max)
- Dimran460Copper ContributorIs it resolved ??
- HowardL168Copper Contributor
Dimran460 Changing "DisableAbsoluteVolume" (via regedit)
value from 0 to 1 (and then rebooting) resolved it for me.

My AirPods pro just stopped working yesterday, I did some testing and it seems that only the headset works when my microphone is active on an app but the sound quality of the airpod's headset is pretty bad. I dont know how to get sound on my headphones for some reason.

Phyzzix in Devices Sound under the Microphones tab, remove the Airpods head microphone device. and then the sound will be of high quality.
- PhyzzixCopper ContributorStill does not work
- PhyzzixCopper ContributorI did the latest windows 11 update, I tried unpairing and pairing, I tried updating every audio driver but nothing seems to fix it.
