Anyone with a blank widget screen? - The fix
If you come across this where your widgets are failing to display and just leaves a grey layer, the fix is very easy and if you follow these instructions, the fix is instant.
Go to>Device Manager>Display Adapters and expand it. Right click on your display adapter and go to Properties>Driver and click disable device. Confirm yes. Your screen may go blank for a second but when it comes back up, your widgets will now display.

It worked for my laptop, but then I lost my docked monitors. Upon reenabling my display adaptor, I got back my docked monitors and the widget continued to work.
