Wish: Possibility to rename Bluetooth devices
I was referring to Windows 10.
Control Panel ( Open with the key combination [Windows] + [R]. Enter "control" there and confirm with "OK" or [Enter])
> Devices and Printers
> select device
> right mouse button
> Properties
> Bluetooth
> Customize name or .Change
> OK
It seems that the steps I provided may not work for your specific device or version of Windows 10. Some Bluetooth devices may not have the option to be renamed through the Windows settings.
However, you may be able to rename your Bluetooth device through its manufacturer’s software or app. You can check the device’s documentation or the manufacturer’s website for more information on how to do this.
So? Any screenshot?

Did it with Windows 10 22H2. I activated Bluetooth on my cell phone and did the same as you and changed the name of the device. I have already mentioned that it is not possible on all devices. Some devices do not have a device manufacturer option. Generally, you have to rely on third-party software or utilities. These tools provide additional functionalities beyond the native capabilities of Windows.
Here are some various software programs that allow you to rename Bluetooth devices on Windows 10 (Version 22H2 or any other version). Here are some popular options:
- BluetoothView: BluetoothView is a free utility by NirSoft that displays the list of Bluetooth devices on your computer and allows you to change the displayed name of the devices. It supports Windows 10 and is easy to use.
- Bluetooth Tweaker: Bluetooth Tweaker is a powerful tool by BluetoothInstaller.com that lets you rename Bluetooth devices and make advanced configurations for Bluetooth connections. It offers a variety of options for customizing the Bluetooth setup and is compatible with Windows 10.
- Bluetooth Device Control: Bluetooth Device Control is another useful program that allows you to rename Bluetooth devices. It provides a user-friendly interface and enables you to customize the device name, icon, and other properties. It works with Windows 10 and offers additional features such as creating shortcuts to Bluetooth devices.
Please note that when using third-party software, caution is always advised. Only download the software from trusted sources and perform a scan with reliable antivirus software before installation.
It's also important to note that renaming Bluetooth devices using such software may cause display and connectivity issues, especially if other devices are already paired with the renamed device. Make sure you understand the consequences of renaming Bluetooth devices before making any changes and consider creating backups if needed.
