Windows10 Windows Update remains stuck at 0% download for driver updates
Only certain driver updates remain at zero percent while other updates work, so the likely problem is that driver package, its applicability metadata, or the update cache rather than the network generally. Note the driver’s name and version, run the Windows Update troubleshooter, and restart. Check Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates; if the driver is optional, do not force it when the device works correctly. Compare the offered version with the hardware manufacturer’s support page and install the manufacturer-approved package instead if specifically recommended for your model. In Device Manager, confirm the hardware ID and driver first. Avoid repeatedly stopping services or deleting SoftwareDistribution, because that discards update state without fixing a mismatched package. If Windows keeps offering the same stalled driver, capture its name, update-history result, and Windows Update log, then report it through Feedback Hub or the device vendor.
