Windows Password reset/discrecovery

My friend has a windows 10 laptop which as far as I can determine is a local account. We attempted to use the security questions but that didn't work saying "one or more questions is incorrect" I will give this another attempt thought (its possible the answers were blank)

How do we reset windows? My friend tells me there aren't any important files he just wants to get onto it.
I have a USB available but can't decide what program or files I need to load.

Thanks for in advance 🙂

    SOLVED.
I pressed and held the SHIFT key during a restart to force the options to open and followed "Troubleshoot" there is a guide on another site outlining it but I'm not sure if I can post it here.

The data will be deleted in the C drive if you choose to reset the device.

All personal data, including documents, photos, music, and videos, are erased. Anything that wasn't part of the original Windows 10 installation will be removed. This ensures that no personal information is left on the computer, making it like a clean slate.

In addition, any applications and software that were installed after the initial Windows 10 setup will be deleted. This includes both applications downloaded from the internet and those installed from physical media. Only the software that came pre-installed with Windows 10, or that was part of the initial installation, will remain.

In fact, it is much easier and more recommended to remove the forgotten password via a reset disk.
